Sustainability

Safety, quality and the environment, on every site.

Health and safety, quality, the environment, and responsibility to the people who build and the communities around them. Four standards applied on every project, from a 46-storey tower to a private residence.

01

Health and safety

The safety of the people building it comes first. Every site runs to the same procedures, whether it is a tower or a house.

Working to ISO 45001. Certification in progress.

  • Before the work starts

A method statement and risk assessment for every activity, agreed before it is mobilised. Anyone entering site is inducted first, including subcontracted and visiting workers.

  • On site, daily

Toolbox talks at the start of the shift, protective equipment issued and enforced, and a safety officer on the ground rather than on call.

  • Working at height

Scaffold inspection on a fixed cycle, edge protection maintained as the frame rises, and a lifting plan for every crane operation on high-rise work.

  • When something happens

Incidents and near misses are recorded, investigated and closed with a change to the method, not a note in a file. Findings are carried across to the group's other sites.

02

Quality

A building should perform as designed for decades after it is handed over.

Working to ISO 9001. Certification in progress.

  • Inspection and test plans

Agreed with the consultant before construction, with hold points that stop the work until an inspection is signed off.

  • Materials

Sourced from approved suppliers against test certificates, with concrete cube testing and materials sampling through accredited laboratories.

  • Workmanship

Benchmark samples approved before a finish is repeated across a floor, so the standard is set once and measured against, not argued at handover.

  • Closing out

Final inspections completed with the consultant, and the drawings, warranties and operating documents handed over complete.

03

Environment

Most projects are on constrained urban sites with occupied buildings alongside them. That sets the standard for how each site is run.

Working to ISO 14001. Certification in progress.

  • Dust, noise and water

Screening, damping and wheel washing on city sites, working hours kept to what the neighbourhood and the authorities allow, and site water managed before it reaches a drain.

  • Waste

Segregated on site, with recoverable material separated and the rest removed by licensed disposal contractors against documented tickets.

  • Sourcing

Responsible sourcing of timber, aggregate and finishes, with preference given to suppliers who can evidence where the material came from.

  • Buildings in use

Efficiency in operation is a design conversation, not a handover one. On design-and-build work the group raises envelope, glazing and services efficiency while it can still change the outcome.

04

People and communities

Responsibility extends to everyone working on a project, including subcontracted labour, and to the communities around it.

Governed by the group's corporate policies.

  • The site workforce

Fair treatment and prompt payment expected of every subcontractor, with welfare, sanitation and rest facilities provided on site as a condition of working here.

  • Training and progression

Skills training on site and structured progression for engineers and supervisors, so people who join a project as juniors run one later.

  • Neighbours

Access, deliveries and noisy work sequenced around the people who live and trade around a live site, with a named person they can raise something with.

  • A respectful workplace

Teamwork, communication and professionalism at every level, from the site office to the board. A supported team delivers better results on site.

Governance

Safety, quality and environmental performance are reviewed at project level on a fixed cycle and reported to the board alongside programme and cost. A finding on one site is closed out across all of them.

Registration and certification

  • Construction Industry Development Authority logoCIDA registered contractor
  • The Chamber of Construction Industry of Sri Lanka logoCCI gold member
  • ISO 9001, ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 logoISO certification in progress

ISO 9001, ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 certification is in progress. The group works to these standards across its projects while certification is completed.
